Retailers Can Save The World

Vancouver, BC (April 01, 2009)  -

As recent statistics have demonstrated, BC’s consumers’ confidence number is growing. Taking into consideration increasing demands for eco-friendly and/or organic consumer goods, Retail BC will bring together world class speakers to demystify the challenge of how retailers can operate their businesses profitably as well as sustainable, with its annual Passion for Retail Conference.

“Retail BC is very excited to bring Gary Hirshberg, renowned author and CE-Yo of organic yogurt enterprise Stonyfield Farm. Gary started in an old barn and ran his operation on his own, now he has brought about change to an entire industry” said Mark Startup, Retail BC President & CEO, “His belief that commerce can fuel change is powerful and astute, however as a real business person, he always keeps an eye on the bottom line”.

Passion for Retail: The World is Changing Conference, also features local and noted businessmen Peter Robinson, CEO of the David Suzuki Foundation and Clint Mahlman, VP of Retail Operations – London Drugs, as well as a panel of thought-provoking retailers, each providing tier own insights and perspectives as to what’s in store for the retail industry, with regard to this “green” trend that is here to stay.

This event will sell out; take advantage of early pricing in effect until April 17th. Passion for Retail: The World is Changing Conference will be held on Tuesday, May 5th from 2:00 to 9:30pm at the Italian Cultural Centre in Vancouver and is open to all retail owners, managers, staff and industry suppliers.
