In the past, Shelfspace’s lobbying has lead to significant savings on WCB (Worksafe BC) rates for retailers in BC.  These endeavours generated $16 million in rebates for department store and general retailers in 2001.  Had Shelfspace not successfully lobbied to remove supermarkets from the general retail subclass, the base assessment could have increased to $3.23 per $100 of payroll in 2002. 

Shelfspace continues to work closely with WorkSafe BC in an effort to treat the retail industry as fairly as possible.
